Collaborative Rescue Effort Brings 57 Puppy Mill Survivors to Safety

North Shore Animal League America has once again joined forces with National Mill Dog Rescue to save the lives of innocent animals living in cruel and inhumane conditions. This time, the collaborative rescue efforts helped to pull 57 dogs and puppies from various commercial breeding facilities in Oklahoma and Missouri.

Westhampton Satellite Campus Provides More Hope For Homeless Dogs

At our Westhampton, N.Y. satellite campus, you can meet 20+ of our adoptable dogs, who for one reason or another, have had trouble finding the perfect homes. All of these special dogs were rescued from various parts of the world and transported out to this east-end facility so they can receive extra attention and guidance from our skilled Pet Behavior Team and nurturing kennel staff.

Celebrating Seniors Every Day

World Animal Day was October 4th, but in our home, animals are celebrated every day of the year. To commemorate this day, I’m highlighting a few adult and senior cats available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America. Adult and senior cats are absolutely incredible companions, but sadly they are often overlooked in shelters across the country even though there are so many good reasons to adopt an adult cat.

Hurricane Florence Emergency Response

Our Emergency Rescue Team continues to assist our shelter partners in the Carolinas and the surrounding areas as they rebound from the devastation caused by Hurricane Florence. Late last week, the team drove three hours from Charlotte, North Carolina, where they were assisting with the live activation of NASCAR on NBC’s PUP SERIES near Charlotte Motor Speedway, to provide relief to the people and animals at Fayetteville Animal Protection Society.

Legacies of Love

One gift that animals give us is the friendship of other people who love them as much as we do. I met Julia Belle Mason in June 2017 when she traveled from her home in Mississippi to New York for her Make-A-Wish dream come true. Her wish was to visit Animal League America, spend time with me, and meet lots of cats and kittens.

Disabled Rescue Pet Continues to Beat the Odds
