Brian Balthazar
TV producer, comedian and media personality, Brian Balthazar is well known for launching the popular fourth hour of NBC’s “Today” show, “Today with Kathie Lee and Hoda.” He also served as Co-Executive Producer of ABC’s “The View” and worked as Vice President of Programming and Executive Producer of Digital Content Production or AOL.com’s homepage. Brian is a proud parent of two charming rescue dogs, Friday and Princeton. He knows firsthand what it means to be on the receiving end of unconditional love and has become an advocate for rescue and adoption throughout the nation. Brian donates his time and has hosted numerous Animal League America events such as the Tour For Life 2017 Finale in Columbus Circle as well as the Annual Lewyt Humane Awards Luncheon in 2016. Brian also starred in Hallmark Channel’s Kitten Bowl IV as the program’s “Inside Scoop” reporter and will perform a comedy routine at this year’s 2017 Annual Lewyt Humane Awards Luncheon.
Camren Bicondova
Actress known for her role as the young Catwoman on the hit FOX television series “Gotham” and two time Animal League America adopter, Camren served as the Celebrity Ambassador of our 2017 Global Pet Adopathon. Camren came to the event and cut the ribbon to open the adoption line at NSALA’s 36 hour adoption event. She and her mother then volunteered throughout the day meeting with adopters as well as promoting adoption through her Instagram platform. Camren continues to be an active supporter and promoter of adoption and NSALA.
Linda Church
Former New York PIX 11 Weather Anchor and Animal League America adopter, Linda has been a dedicated supporter of NSALA for years. From strutting her stuff for the 2nd Annual Canine Catwalk in 2015 to hosting the 2016 Tour For Life Finale at Columbus Circle, Linda is a true advocate and voice for the plight of homeless animals. She served as a member of our 2016 Get Your Rescue On Gala committee, donated on air experiences as auction items and helped spread the important message of rescue and adoption, often holding an adoptable puppy, on air during her morning weather report. She continues to support us through her social media platforms and was on hand for our 2017 Tour For Life Kick Off in West Palm Beach, FL.
Stephen Colbert
Host of the popular late night CBS television program, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Stephen has utilized his humor to shed light on the importance of rescue and adoption. “Rescue Dog Rescue” created by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has become a famously popular segment where Stephen, along with a guest celebrity, tell made up lies about each adoptable animal. They then share photos and the “lies” about each animal on their website as we do on Animal League America’s. This has created buzz surrounding rescue animals and has increased the exposure about the importance of adoption nationwide. To date every animal that has been featured has found a loving home.
Tamsen Fadal
PIX 11 Evening News Anchor, Tamsen Fadal, has taken her passion for rescue pets to the next level by becoming one of the first celebrity Anipals for NSALA. Each week Tamsen posts a photo of an adoptable dog, cat, puppy or kitten on her social platforms, tagging NSALA which only helps that animal reach an entirely different audience. Tamsen has not only attended numerous Get Your Rescue On Galas but has played an integral role in facilitating coverage for the Gala as well as NSALA rescues.
Lisa Lampanelli
The loveable “Queen of Mean”, Lisa Lampanelli is an animal lover and rescue advocate unlike any other. Along with her rescue dog Parker, Lisa donated her time and hosted Animal League America’s 2015 Get Your Rescue On Gala, performed a comedy skit at Animal League America’s 2016 Gala, donated clothing and accessories for Animal League America’s web thrift store, as well as hosted a mobile adoption event outside her hit off-Broadway show Stuffed. Most recently Lisa donated her talent, time and passion by headlining a benefit comedy night titled “Unleashed” at The Paramount in Huntington, NY where she generously donated her time for this event which benefitted NSALA’s mission to rescue, nurture, adopt and educate. The “Queen of Mean” truly has a warm heart and not only believes in but is a strong advocate for the importance of rescue and adoption.
Rachael Ray
A longtime friend to North Shore Animal League America and founder of Rachael’s Rescue, Rachael Ray embodies what it means to be a rescue animal lover. Not only through her support through Rachael’s Rescue she often has NSALA adoptable animals featured on The Rachael Ray Show and a number the members of her television production team have adopted dogs and cats after meeting, and falling in love with them, while they were in-studio. In December 2016, Rachael surprised adopters at NSALA by covering the cost of over 100 adoption fees for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Rachael’s generosity for our mission knows no bounds or boundaries as she has even donated a Mobile Unit which is an integral part of our humane relocation and adoption programs.
Robin Roberts
Robin Roberts, ABC’s Good Morning America’s anchor and Animal League America adopter of the lovable rescue Lukas, has been a true friend and advocate for NSALA. Robin served as the Celebrity Ambassador for the 2017 Global Pet Adoptathon and continues to be a voice for the plight of homeless animals through the nationally televised show as well as her popular Instagram page where she posts photos of Lukas as ALWAYS uses NSALA’s hashtag #GetYourRescueOn.
Alexa Datt Rosenberg
The New York Met’s sideline reporter, MLB Radio Host and Animal League America adopter of adorable rescue Bear, Alexa Rosenberg’s involvement with NSALA has grown over the years. Alexa and husband Peter Rosenberg served as our 2016 Gala “blue” carpet hosts interviewing the red carpet attendees and she served as the 2017 Lewyt Humane Awards Luncheon host.
Lara Spencer
As ABC’s Good Morning America’s anchor and Animal League America adopter of her rescue Lucy, who she describes as “perfect,” and owner of four adorable pups. Lara’s commitment to showcasing adoptable animals through her nationally televised show, “Good Morning America,” has been an invaluable resource in sharing our important messages of the importance of rescue and adoption.
