An Uber driver fostered my dog for 3 days and refuses to return him or my stuff.

Question

An Uber driver offered to foster my puppy while in Hospital for 3 days, and now refuses to give me my puppy and my belongings.

Answer

I never heard of Uber Pet-sitting! People who believe their animal is being wrongfully withheld can sue (replevin action) to try to get the animal returned. The police can also be contacted. If there is no written foster agreement, it is possible that the court will decide that you gave the dog away. People who cannot temporarily care for their animals should attempt to place the animals with family, friends, or boarding facility, not give possession of the animals to a stranger. I hope this all works out for the puppy!
